Project Engineer (Water Resources)

About the role

The Project Engineer will assist the project team with overall responsibility for all aspects of the construction project, dedicating significant time to learning day-to-day operations and processes at project sites, which may require extended work hours beyond a standard work week.

This role requires a strong sense of self-motivation, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, and a passion for collaborating with others to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

• Help develop a strong team dynamic and positive work environment.
• Assist with task and work plan meetings.
• Provide insight and feedback for the financial performance of the project(s).
• Manage project-specific safety plans in addition to the corporate safety plan.
• Handle change order management creation.
• Adhere to quality and workmanship standards per contract specifications.
• Assist superintendents and crews with material ordering and quantity management.
• Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors for timely progression of work activities.
• Create and process submittals, submittal logs, RFIs, and material delivery logs.
• Quantity verification and payment reconciliation.
• RFI and submittal correspondence.
• Material delivery coordination.
• Work plan creation and review.
• Schedule reviews and updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• One to two years of work experience in the water/wastewater construction industry is preferred.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
• Conflict management and resolution skills.
• Effective communication with all levels of project stakeholders.
• Basic knowledge of scheduling software.
• Ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Travel when required (dependent on jobsite location and project).
• Must have a valid driver's license.
