About the role
The Project Engineer will assist the project team with overall responsibility for all aspects of the construction project, dedicating significant time to learning day-to-day operations and processes at project sites, which may require extended work hours beyond a standard work week.
This role requires a strong sense of self-motivation, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, and a passion for collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
Responsibilities
- Help develop a strong team dynamic and positive work environment.
- Assist with task and work plan meetings.
- Provide insight and feedback for the financial performance of the project(s).
- Manage project-specific safety plans in addition to the corporate safety plan.
- Handle change order management creation.
- Adhere to quality and workmanship standards per contract specifications.
- Assist superintendents and crews with material ordering and quantity management.
- Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors for timely progression of work activities.
- Create and process submittals, submittal logs, RFIs, and material delivery logs.
- Quantity verification and payment reconciliation.
- RFI and submittal correspondence.
- Material delivery coordination.
- Work plan creation and review.
- Schedule reviews and updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- One to two years of work experience in the water/wastewater construction industry is preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
- Conflict management and resolution skills.
- Effective communication with all levels of project stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of scheduling software.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Travel when required (dependent on jobsite location and project).
- Must have a valid driver's license.
