About the role
Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced water/wastewater engineer to join their growing Colorado team. The position is part of a broader effort to expand the water practice in the Rocky Mountain region, focusing on diverse projects including green infrastructure, pumping, and pipeline design.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical design deliverables for work packages in water/wastewater projects.
- Support the project manager in managing projects, acting as deputy project manager or task/discipline lead.
- Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations for key deliverables.
- Provide design support services during construction, including submittal reviews, RFI's, change orders, etc.
- Apply extensive knowledge of engineering/scientific principles/practices in broad areas of assignment and related fields.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, subconsultants, and staff throughout the project.
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in water and wastewater projects.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (optional).
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS.
- Ability and enthusiasm for supervising the work of others.
- Skilled in technical writing.
Qualifications
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Required to have a B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado is mandatory.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater projects.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is preferred but not required.

- Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
- The expected salary range for this position is $118,000 - $144,000.
