About the Role
The Project Engineer serves as the company’s field representative, overseeing day-to-day coordination and management of on-site project administration.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day on-site administration, including maintaining the project progress schedule, coordinating material deliveries with internal resources and subcontractors, preparing material takeoffs, and managing materials.
- Communicate daily on-site activities, issues, and progress to the Lead Superintendent/Superintendent. Document daily construction activities via field reports, upload them to the Project Manager folder, and assist with weather logs and other report logs.
- Work with the Lead Superintendent/Superintendent to ensure project costs, schedule, and quality are maintained.
- Assist in the buyout process with the assigned Project Manager and update logs.
- Maintain and enforce jobsite safety and security measures, including weekly safety compliance inspections, safety talks at production meetings, and obtaining weekly safety meeting minutes from subcontractors.
- Coordinate temporary project facilities such as dumpsters, portable restrooms, construction trailers, and generators.
- Resolve conflicts related to field activities and initiate corrective actions to meet project expectations and goals.
- Assist in maintaining organized project records, including current plans, specifications, submittals, construction change directives, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- Oversee and track the warranty service process during and after project completion.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned from project experiences.
- Manage all on-site deliveries and communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of multi-family field management experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand design documents, blueprints, and Microsoft Project Schedules.
- Experience organizing, filing, creating spreadsheets, and strong mathematical skills.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and a safety-conscious mindset.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Advanced problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and daily travel to project sites.
Work Environment
- The majority of work is performed in the field under varying weather conditions, including wet, cold, hot, and noisy environments.
- Exposure to extensive walking, climbing, sitting, standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Extensive interaction with subcontractors, vendors, design consultants, local officials, and operations personnel.
- Must exhibit professionalism and courtesy, as the role is a key company representative.
