Project Engineer - Transportation

About the role
In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region while working alongside a collaborative and creative group of engineers and professionals. We’re looking for a motivated individual who brings strong technical expertise, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is excited to help deliver high-quality transportation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities.
- Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects.
- Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination.
- Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects.
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Lead design for multidisciplinary projects.
- Perform field observation work when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university; master's degree is a plus.
- 4-6 years of experience in the design of transportation facilities.
- Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
- A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients’ overall project goals.
- Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state within 6 months of employment.
Pay
Salary range for this position is $95,000/yr - $108,000/yr and is dependent on individual education, experience, and qualifications.
