About the role

As a Project Engineer, you will provide mid-level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) overhead utility systems. Specifically, the position involves:

  • Developing and approving PLS-CADD criteria
  • Finalizing PLS-CADD models
  • Scheduling project tasks for the project support team
  • Attending client stakeholder meetings
  • Completing design review meetings with the client
  • Providing input on special design questions
  • Attending internal design review meetings

Responsibilities

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred)
  • 4+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
  • Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines (required)
  • Experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI (required)
  • Experience with liaising substation, transmission, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders (required)
  • Demonstrated ability in the application of engineering theories and principles (increasingly proficient)
  • Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting (increasingly proficient)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations (increasingly proficient)
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline-driven work environment (increasingly proficient)
  • Demonstrated strong ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry (increasingly proficient)
  • Demonstrated strong ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and presentation) (increasingly proficient)
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and technical writing skills (increasingly proficient)

Qualifications

Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
