About the Role

A Structural Project Engineer serves as a key member of the Houston Engineering Diagnostics team, utilizing expertise in structural engineering to provide diagnostics and innovative solutions. The role involves client interaction, field assessment, report preparation, and project management while collaborating with a dynamic team to develop engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive structural engineering diagnostics, identifying potential issues and providing detailed reports.
  • Offer expert guidance and innovative solutions for construction material-related challenges to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to foster a cohesive environment for timely and accurate engineering service delivery.
  • Maintain effective client communication, translating complex engineering concepts into clear and concise explanations.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and trends in structural engineering, incorporating new knowledge into project work.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of forward-thinking engineering solutions, driving innovation within the team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Engage in business development activities, building and nurturing client relationships to enhance the company's reputation.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas (PE) is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering diagnostics is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials and their properties is crucial.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software, such as RISA 3D, is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
