Project Engineer- Structural, Architectural, and Geotechnical Design
About the role
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts seeks skilled Structural Engineers and Engineering Associates to design and support essential infrastructure. Key responsibilities include leading structural design efforts for wastewater, solid waste, and collection system facilities, performing complex analyses, conducting site inspections, and collaborating with civil, architectural, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and prepare plans, specifications and engineering calculations for administrative, wastewater treatment, collection systems, and solid waste facilities
- Provide design support during construction of capital projects
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of work for engineering projects
- Drive to various sites for inspections or meetings
- Participate in reviewing or evaluating the work of others such as consultants, vendors or temporary agency workers on a project basis
Requirements
- A valid California Class C driver license
- Engineering Associate Ii Level: Bachelor's degree and master’s degree both in a pertinent engineering discipline from an accredited and recognized college or university
- Engineering Associate Iii Level: Two (2) years of experience as an Engineering Associate Ii
- Engineer Level: Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer with the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists

Pay
Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Annual salary increases are available until reaching step 5 of the salary range, and cost of living adjustments are implemented annually in accordance with labor agreements.
Schedule
Flexible work schedules are offered, including the 9/80 schedule, depending on the worksite.
