About the role

Carmel Partners is seeking a Project Engineer with experience in wood-frame, residential construction Project Management.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Project Manager in planning and executing construction projects.
  • Support the project schedule as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Manage procurement and submittal logs.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents and coordinate approvals with the design team.
  • Coordinate shop drawings, material interfaces, and access/routing with subcontractors and design teams.
  • Prepare mock-ups for owner approval.
  • Support quality control inspections of work in progress and completed work.
  • Assist the Superintendent with site logistics planning.
  • Develop scopes of work, bid packages, bid analyses, and quantity take-offs to support project buyouts.
  • Manage drawing and document issuance, including design updates and Requests for Information.
  • Assist the Project Manager with change management.
  • Manage project closeout and prepare closeout documents.
  • Manage consultant, city, and internal punch list corrections.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws (e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in commercial or residential construction.
  • Extensive computer knowledge: proficiency with Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Office, and construction and project management software (Smartsheet, Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Ability to pass a drug screen after a conditional offer of employment is made.

Pay

Base compensation range from $94,000 to $101,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and to offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances unrelated to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
