Project Engineer - Mission Critical

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join the National Mission Critical team. This role supports project teams in completing designated projects while learning Ryan’s processes, procedures, and business policies.

Responsibilities

• Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
• Monitor and maintain the shop drawing log and coordinate shop drawings.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements while field‑verifying dimensions to back‑check the shop drawing approval process.
• Assist in the coordination and tracking of vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan safety policies and procedures.
• Gain an understanding of overall site logistics.
• Participate in and learn the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Accompany Ryan personnel (and owners) on punch‑list inspections, record punch‑list items, and monitor completion of punch‑list work.
• Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.
• Willingness to travel as needed to execute projects.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (verification of employment required).

Preferred Skills

• General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost‑coding systems.
• Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore).
• Design‑build commercial construction experience.
