About the role

The Foundation and Ground Improvement Division of Michels Construction, Inc. is a rapidly growing provider of geotechnical construction solutions across North America. The Project Engineer position based in Baltimore, MD offers the highly qualified civil engineer an opportunity to learn first-hand the complex world of ground improvement, deep foundations and earth retention. Michels is an excellent fit for a civil engineer who desires to work in construction with a balance of geotechnical design and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key team member supporting all needs to help with a successful project completion
  • Ensure the crew has everything they need for the day on-site
  • Perform all required documentation and record entry for the project
  • Plan for the next days and weeks ahead to set the crew and project up for success
  • Work closely and communicate with both Project Managers and Superintendents

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, 0-6 years of relevant experience, and a strong interest in geotechnical construction is required
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in geotechnical or structural engineering is preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record
  • Travel required; Extensive travel for six months up to two years (Depending on experience)
