Project Engineer- Maintenance

About the role
You'll play a key role in helping our maintenance organization move from reactive to proactive by improving planning effectiveness, supporting predictive maintenance initiatives, optimizing downtime activities, and enhancing equipment reliability. This position offers a unique blend of engineering problem-solving, maintenance strategy development, project coordination, data analysis, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Your work will help create safer operations, reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and strengthen the overall performance of our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment and tooling in a state of compliance with specifications, fit, form, and contamination standards
- Lead through influence skilled trades/maintenance personnel to evaluate controls and mechanical requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, efficiency, and uptime
- Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process
- Perform safety inspections to identify and ensure that safety hazards/unsafe practices are promptly corrected
- Meet PM, downtime, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
- Create and sustain predictive maintenance programs; preparing for and fully utilizing downtime
- Assist and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
- Partner with Maintenance Supervisor on preventive maintenance schedules, preventive and predictive inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime
- Control and monitor oil, water, and energy usage
- Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work for the Palmyra campus
- Lead the review of applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
- Continually improve planning, scheduling, data management, and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency
- Collaborate with maintenance supervision, Operations Leaders, and other maintenance team members to schedule manpower and resources for planned maintenance work
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience in Process, Manufacturing, Facilities, or Maintenance Engineering
- Ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage through competing priorities and requests
- Ability to lead through influence and assess department and operational priorities
- General computer competency for email and office programs; skills with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Oracle desired
- Complete all job duties with the highest level of safety
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with variations in temperature and light
- Light to moderate physical effort (lifts/carry up to 25 pounds)
- Frequent prolonged standing/walking
- Lifts supplies/equipment; pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
- Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling

Pay
The hiring range for this position is typically $81,000 - $121,000 annually. Bonus, gainshare, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
