Project Engineer - Land Development

About the role
Responsible for land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, educational, and recreational design technical tasks including conceptual site layout; utility design; roadway design; site grading design; soil erosion and sedimentation control design; floodplain studies; permitting and entitlement support; preparation of engineer’s opinions of probable cost; assistance with proposal preparation; and construction support.
Responsibilities
- Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost
- Prepares design calculations
- Maintains client relationships
- Prepares permit applications for municipal agencies
- Conducts feasibility studies, master planning, and engineering design of water, sanitary and storm sewer, paving, and detention facilities
- Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services
- Reviews and prepares project specifications
- Assists in production of final construction drawings
- Mentors and trains Civil Engineers
- Delegates project components to Civil Engineers
- Collaborates with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Manages project schedules and ensures timely completion
- Participates in business development activities
- Represents the firm professionally at client and municipal meetings/hearings
- Prepares and monitors project budgets, billing, and assists with accounts receivable
- Performs other duties incidental to the work described
Requirements
- PE license required
- Valid driver’s license
- 6+ years of experience
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables
- Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English

$90,000 USD - $135,800 USD
