Project Engineer Intern - Chino Hills, California (Summer 2027)

Duties

• Attend meetings
• Assist Project Managers with various day-to-day activities and deliverables
• Support evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
• Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work
• Review project drawings and coordinate any RFIs and contract changes
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases, etc.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for maximization of operation efficiency
• Prepare and update project schedule and interact with all involved in the scheduling decision processes
• Respond to field for design clarification and manage subcontractors' field operations
• Verify contract payments
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for the design of temporary structures using computer-aided design tools

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar program at an accredited technical college or university
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and scheduling/project management software
