Project Engineer Intern

About the role

A leading mechanical contractor is looking for a Project Engineer to join its Denver operations team and help drive the successful delivery of complex construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical or construction experience who is ready to take greater ownership of project coordination, financial tracking, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project setup, costing, labor hours, and scheduling
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Track subcontractors, equipment, and overall job progress
• Support project planning, meetings, and schedule updates
• Assist with safety audits, billing, and financial reporting
• Work closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors

Requirements

• 2+ years of mechanical construction or related project experience
• Familiarity with construction project management software
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in continuing toward a Project Manager position

Pay

$65,000–$90,000 base salary
