About the role
Serve as project engineer on medium to large multi-disciplinary design-only and/or design-build/EPC projects with the ability to serve as a project manager on smaller design-only or early FEL phase projects under the supervision of a project manager.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and manage the overall engineering design efforts for design-only and/or EPC projects.
- Perform independent quality and completeness reviews of engineering deliverables.
- Support the development of project cost estimates.
- Manage development of discipline budgets and the overall project’s professional services budget and work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Coordinate schedule progression/updates, and budget/progress tracking functions with the project team.
- Capture and manage design RFI’s.
- Prepare monthly client status reports.
- Support vendor expediting efforts (submittals, fabrication, delivery).
- Develop vendor quality oversight plans.
- Direct procurement process (equipment, piping, instruments, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Support proposal development and production.
- Afford mentorship and retention of junior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 3 years of detailed engineering design experience for design-only and/or EPC projects, 5 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Owners, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
- Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to develop and manage workplans, schedules and budgets and provide leadership to a diverse project team a plus.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
