Project Engineer - Industrial Projects

The Project Engineer (PE) position is a key entry point into construction project management and plays a critical role in the success of each project. As an experienced Project Engineer, you will work alongside best-in-industry project managers and field leaders within our Industrial division, supporting specialty projects in mechanical and piping for markets like aviation, water & wastewater treatment, and power plants. This role provides business and administrative support to facilitate the planning and coordination of activities to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Location: Cypress, CA with anticipated travel in and around the greater Southern California metropolitan areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of project personnel.
• Assist in the coordination of project personnel activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Advise Project Manager of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
• Compose and/or edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures as required.
• Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items per supervisor's authorization.
• Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analyses per supervisor's request, often requiring research, development, and/or interpretation of data with little instruction or supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or similar area of study, and/or previous direct field and craft experience.
• 3+ years of progressive project engineering experience at a mechanical contractor.
• Proficiency in various construction software and enterprise tools (Excel, MS Project, Procore, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous construction experience on industrial piping projects (water/wastewater treatment, jet fuel, power plants, oil & gas, etc.).
• Experience working on purification or power generation projects is a significant plus.
• Hands-on experience working directly with union field/craft/trades.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, and/or Autodesk (ACC) Build.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must have sufficient visual acuity to read printed and digital documents.
• Must be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches, attic spaces, and/or confined spaces.
• Requires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.
• Must be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• Ability to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.

Pay

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
