About the role
An IEI Project Engineer assists the Project Manager, managing all aspects of a project—including safety, quality, organization, planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and day-to-day issues—to ensure completion on time, on budget, and with quality that meets or exceeds IEI and customer expectations. The role fosters a stable, safe, efficient, and pleasant work environment by adhering to safety procedures, budgets, schedules, and company policies while treating employees fairly and uniformly.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a vital team member assisting the Project Team in all aspects of the build to complete projects on time, under budget, and with quality exceeding expectations.
- Project Start-Up
- Plan and coordinate projects with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendents.
- Provide project support through research, interpretation of codes, conflict resolution, interference management, and error correction.
- Initiate and maintain project schedules and lifecycle plans.
- Project Build
- Assist and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs), change notices, and vendor materials.
- Manage material expediting, delivery, and storage.
- Coordinate and resolve engineering and construction problems; schedule and attend meetings; prepare and distribute minutes.
- Implement cost controls and reconcile billings.
- Maintain, prepare, and verify contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, project databases, reports, quality control activities, and project estimates.
- Serve as communication liaison between the office, field, and entire project team.
- Project Closeout
- Assist in project close-out by developing and completing close-out documentation.
- Maintain and complete As-Builts.
- Manage the punch list process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field or 1–4 years of related work experience or a combination of both.
- Knowledgeable of construction processes.
- Proven computer platform experience (Procore is a plus).
