About the Opportunity

Our growing Engineering and Design team is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer II to join us in a hybrid role based out of one of our offices in Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Missoula, MT; Golden, CO or Dallas, TX. In this role, you'll play a key part in engineering for our Energy, New Construction, Data Center and Distributed Renewable Resources clients, working alongside internal partners and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions and ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management:
    • Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions
    • Learns and follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures
    • Contributes to tasks on multiple projects and timelines concurrently
    • Delivers assigned tasks on time and in budget
    • Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts
  • Design:
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems design, including load and fault current calculations, general power distribution design and multi-discipline coordination
    • Size feeders and branch circuits
    • Perform voltage drop calculations
    • Basic understanding of NEC
    • Working knowledge of panel and equipment schedules preferred
    • Understanding of medium voltage distribution systems, including feeder and transformer sizing, switching and protection calculations preferred
    • Performs and shares knowledge in engineering calculations, design, and drafting tasks
    • Produces design drawings and building information models for construction
    • Pursues an understanding of the technical foundation of design activities and decisions
    • Performs coordination with internal team members and supports coordination with external team members
    • Identifies opportunities for process and technology improvements
    • Investigates, evaluates, and troubleshoots existing systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
  • Two to Three (2-3) years of experience in Revit modeling preferred
  • Two to Three (2-3) years of experience in engineering design or related field is preferred. Onsite construction experience considered and welcome
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam
  • Clear and effective communication
  • Responsible, commitment and detail oriented team driven individual
  • Exposure to SKM Power Tools (PTW) or similar power system analysis tool is preferred
  • Engineering in Training Certificate preferred

Pay

The pay range for this position is $36.26 - $56.83 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
