About the role
The Project Engineer II plays a crucial role in designing and delivering antenna solutions that meet customer specifications. They support project planning, manage budgets, and ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Support and lead the development of detailed engineering project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Lead the design and development of deliverables to all specifications.
- Perform 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks and/or CREO.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with technical requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Oversee the creation and validation of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Troubleshoot design and production issues, implementing solutions to improve system performance.
- Evaluate design changes and ensure their integration into the final product.
- Act as a liaison between engineering teams, program management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure design intent is met.
- Plan and oversee testing of hardware to validate performance and reliability.
- Analyze test results, identify failure modes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
- Stay updated on advancements in aerospace technology and incorporate innovative solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Interface with customers to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Present project updates, design concepts, and test results to clients and upper management.
- Uphold the company core values.
- Carefully coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments to ensure timely delivery.
- Report project status and metrics to stakeholders and management.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, RF/Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering degree.
- At least 3 years related experience.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to follow instructions and procedures and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be capable of reading drawings and inspecting the work being performed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Experience with passive RF antenna components, feeds, and assemblies desired.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an authentic desire to build relationships, share knowledge, and positively impact.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Familiarity with MS Projects.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience.
- Working knowledge of analysis software.
