About the role
ESPEC North America (ENA) is a partner in environmental and accelerated reliability test chambers and solutions, dedicated to enhancing product quality and reliability. We are seeking a Project Engineer II to join our Engineering Department.
Responsibilities
- Actively uses company problem solving (EPS) to correct errors in work outputs.
- Complies with all relevant Engineering group procedures and ISO quality standards; participates in updating procedures as needed.
- Possesses the ability to learn and comprehend ENA's basic chamber model lines.
- Contributes as a technical resource during customer review meetings and design reviews.
- Participates in the review of customer order packages to identify the specific requirements for custom chamber designs.
- Calculates and determines the design performance of standard chambers across multiple ENA model lines.
- Begins by managing two to three projects under the guidance and mentorship of a Senior Project Engineer.
- Understands standard and basic custom cabinet design at the assembly level.
- Possesses the ability to acquire knowledge and understanding of refrigeration design principles, including line sizing, component selection, and compressor specifications.
- Develops knowledge and understanding of various temperature & humidity techniques.
- Reads and interprets standard electrical schematics.
- Provides technical guidance and support to production teams, assisting with design questions and troubleshooting issues.
- Works with Senior Project Engineers to calibrate and fine-tune chambers for optimal performance.
- Develops an understanding of PID control and tuning principles under the guidance of a Senior Project Engineer.
- Conducts research on relevant industry standards and specifications for environmental testing chambers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required.
- 4-7 years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, process, or project engineering role within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic proficiency in 2D CAD is required.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Onsite work is required.
