Project Engineer I - Structural

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Design team in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

• Provides design task support to a level of quality that leads to a minimum number of required clarifications during construction.
• Learns and follows McKinstry Engineering standards and procedures.
• Contributes to tasks on multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
• Manages own workload to deliver assigned tasks on time and in budget.
• Identifies training, coaching, and support needed to complete assigned tasks.
• Develops familiarity in structural systems design, including seismic anchorage calculations associated with equipment anchorage and multi-discipline coordination.
• Performs engineering calculations, design, and drafting tasks.
• Produces design drawings and building information models for construction.
• Pursues an understanding of the technical foundation of design activities and decisions.

Requirements

• Internship or one (1) year experience in related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline required or equivalent work experience required.
• Onsite construction experience considered and welcome.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Knowledge of Revit preferred.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software, such as Bentley platform, RISA, SAP 2000 software tool welcome.
• Engineering in Training Certificate preferred.
• EIT required.

• Knowledge of other CAD/BIM tools welcome.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $31.02 - $47.26 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
