About the role
We are seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our South Carolina team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for client service and engineering, with 5+ years of Geotechnical Design Experience. You should be familiar with SCDOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs
- Supervise subsurface exploration programs
- Prepare Geotechnical Information Reports, Bridge Geotechnical Engineering Reports, Roadway Geotechnical Engineering Reports, and Seismic Response Analysis Reports
- Develop geotechnical analyses and calculations using approved software
- Review of Post-bid construction plans
- Prepare foundations recommendations for other structures (as required)
- Innovate design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering to enhance project efficiency
Requirements
- MS or advanced degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- 10+ years of Geotechnical Design Experience
- SCDOT experience
Qualifications
- Knowledge of SCDOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification
- Understanding of gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Microstation
- South Carolina Professional Engineer License
