Project Engineer I - Design

About the role

AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. (MTI) is seeking a Project Engineer I - Design to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise to cross-functional business development and engineering program team execution activities.

Responsibilities

• Plans and formulates workflow of self to meet specified deadlines with minimum of supervision
• 3D Design/engineering responsibility for components and sub systems
• 2D Detailing and preparation of manufacturing documentation
• Use and understanding of data management tools (Windchill, Teamcenter)
• Solves engineering and design conflicts
• Supports all system engineering tasks relating to system responsibility i.e. Architecture
• Resolves design constraints and establishes interfaces
• DFMEA’s, DVPR’s
• BOM input
• Coodinates input from other skill teams as required i.e., Analysis

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Associates
• Four + years of design experience
• 3D Design experience with HV and/or LV wiring and harnesses (routing, retention, shielding, etc)
• Formal knowledge of GD&T
• Good CAD skills on one or more systems (Siemens NX preferred)
• Fluent in PDM software (Teamcenter preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Visual Requirement: Enough to read
• Climbing stairs: Ascending or descending stairs to gain access to a building or to move from one floor to another
• Light Carrying: Items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
• Moderate Lifting: Objects 15 to 45 pounds
• Heavy Lifting: Objects 45 pounds and over
• Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
• Standing: 4 hours per day
• Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly for long distances
• Hearing Requirements: Must be able to detect specific noises, proper equipment operation, and understand what clients are saying in normal conversations
• Mental Requirements: Comprehension, Organization, Reasoning and Decision Making, Communication, Mathematics
