Project Engineer I

About the role

This position supports the project team on smaller, less complex projects by assisting a project manager or managers to successfully coordinate a project using the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services.

Responsibilities

• Maximize project team’s effectiveness and efficiency by providing basic project support to senior project management staff.
• Support the project construction team as needed.
• Estimate the impact of project changes and manage change orders.
• Assemble submittal packages and other required project documentation.
• Assist with procurement of equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project-related services.
• Analyze and resolve basic construction-related questions and issues.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in a related field or applicable experience.
• Up to 3 years of experience.
• Basic knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.
• Basic ERP skills, including inquiring, reviewing, and printing job cost reports.
• Ability to read design drawings and track work progress.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Excel) and Microsoft Projects.
