Project Engineer I

Job Roles And Responsibilities Develop and review structural designs using established engineering principles, design criteria, codes, standards, and project specificationsConduct field assessments under the supervision of senior engineering staffPerform structural design calculations for structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, wood, light gauge metal, and foundation systemsDevelop and verify structural engineering models for accuracy and complianceCoordinate with contractors to identify and resolve structural design and construction issuesPrepare technical reports and engineering documentationPerform quality assurance and quality control reviews of structural models, calculations, reports, and drawingsResearch and apply new engineering practices, technologies, and industry standardsParticipate in continuing education and professional development activitiesAssist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Engineering Interns, Design Engineers, and other Project EngineersContribute to initiatives that improve project efficiency, quality, and innovationManage priorities and complete assigned work within project deadlinesWork independently while communicating effectively with project teams and senior staffPerform other engineering duties as assigned Qualifications And Certifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited four year college or universityMaster of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is preferredMinimum of three years of experience in structural or civil engineeringProfessional Engineer license or equivalent is requiredStrong understanding of structural engineering principles and practicesAbility to perform engineering analysis and solve technical problemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with project teamsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and demonstrate initiativeCommitment to professional development and continuous improvementExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsExperience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or RISA 3D is preferredAutoCAD experience is preferredFamiliarity with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot is preferredProgramming experience is a plus Benefits Professional development and continuing education opportunitiesOpportunities to mentor and develop junior engineering staffExposure to structural engineering projects across multiple material systemsOpportunities to contribute to process improvement and engineering innovationCollaborative work environment with Project Managers, Engineers, and DesignersOpportunities for increasing technical and project responsibilities
