About the Role
The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager with administrative duties related to projects, including material releases, vendor follow-up, invoice coding, routine correspondence, field dimensioning, change orders, submittals, and labor and delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, preparing, and finalizing the project schedule.
- Procure and submit all project submittal information and manage the approval process.
- Assist with administering subcontract requirements, contract documents, and change orders.
- Coordinate communications and correspondences from owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure project quality control procedures are followed during construction, in accordance with contract documents and ISEC policies.
- Oversee job closeout in a proper and efficient manner while keeping the Project Manager informed.
- Assist in resolving conflicts with clients and customers.
- Record all applicable information in the Project Control/Document Control System with target dates for task completion.
- Review job costs with the Project Manager.
- Manage shop drawings through project specification, general contractor review, and final installation.
- Follow up on shop drawing changes, schedule changes, or delays with internal and external customers.
- Release material in a timely manner and coordinate deliveries.
- Visit jobsites as needed to review progress and understand the jobsite environment.
- Maintain a Shortage and Breakage Log and reorder material as necessary.
- Prepare operation and maintenance manuals, guarantees, and submit them in accordance with specification requirements for each project.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly billings, cost projections, and weekly logs.
Safety Responsibilities
- Manage and implement ISEC Safety requirements, promoting a positive atmosphere for safety excellence.
- Coach employees who need improvement and assign work only to trained and qualified personnel.
- Ensure all recognized safety deficiencies are promptly corrected.
- Report all injuries and incidents to Managers and the Safety Department.
- Plan and coordinate deliveries following safe and best practices.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
Skills
- Basic knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes, and projects.
- Understands project plans and specifications.
- Works autonomously at times but seeks guidance for unusual or complex problems.
- Engages in company culture, open to feedback, and flexible to change.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent prioritization, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
