Project Engineer I

At Danone, our commitment to manufacturing the highest quality products and meeting market demand is a fundamental driver for our plant teams. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our West Jordan facility. In this role, you will be part of the plant engineering team, supporting strategic, operational, and policy-related aspects of the plant with a focus on safety, quality, performance, management, and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Project execution of current (Processing, Packaging, Building, and Utility) projects
• Work with Engineering Manager to align on project priorities
• Work with CAPEX analyst to manage the capital forecast and budget for each project
• Create, design, and evaluate initial call for tender documents with the Engineering Manager
• Work with Regional Engineering teams during bidding processes and technical alignment
• Work with the CAPEX procurement team to align on priorities and contract negotiations
• Occasional travel required for training or plant projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant field from an accredited college or university (or a minimum of 5 years of experience managing capital projects or maintenance and reliability in a food manufacturing site if no degree)
• 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in CPG beverage/food manufacturing
• Experience and working knowledge in:
  • Integrated automation and controls technology
  • High-speed packaging systems design
  • Dairy process engineering and PMO (3A standards is a plus)
  • Manufacturing plant utility systems
• Must be organized and self-disciplined to manage concurrent projects
• Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or late shifts, during installation/startup periods

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000–$115,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus.
