About the Company

As the general contractor, construction manager, and/or project manager, CDB delivers complex and challenging projects, particularly heavy infrastructure projects such as bridges, canals, dams, tunnels, culverts, and viaducts. Responsibilities

  • Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.
  • Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data.
  • Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
  • Identify risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
  • Update project schedule monthly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan. Notify engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
  • Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
  • Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
  • Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all construction personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working for a General Contractor.
  • EIT certification/license.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training.

Skills

  • Knowledge of construction project management.
  • Technical knowledge of means and methods in different types of heavy civil construction; bridges construction experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including MS Project.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and HEC-RAS.

Work Conditions

  • Up to 50 hours a week based on project requirements.
  • Clear driving record and own vehicle required.
  • Frequent travel to various construction sites across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
