Project Engineer (Contract)
About the role
Support the development of motorcycle, scooter, and powersports belt-drive systems through prototype procurement, supplier management, inspection, testing coordination, First Article Inspection (FAI) ownership, data tracking, and engineering reporting. Collaborate closely with design engineering and purchasing teams, ensuring testing and prototype deliverables meet project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Procure and manage prototypes for motorcycle, scooter, and powersports belt-drive systems.
- Cook up supplier management and ensure timely deliverables.
- Conduct inspections and testing coordination, including FAI ownership.
- Track data and generate engineering reports.
- Work closely with design engineering and purchasing teams.
- Ensure all testing and prototype deliverables meet project timelines.
- Follow test procedures and engineering processes accurately.
- Troubleshoot and support test execution and DVP.
- Generate reports and maintain project coordination.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and maintain sample tracking.
- Manage and maintain databases related to testing and prototyping.
Requirements
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in engineering technician, test engineering, validation, quality, or prototype engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings and CAD models.
- Experience in hands-on laboratory or testing environments.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with suppliers and coordinating projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in motorcycle, powersports, automotive, or rotating equipment.
- CMM and laser scanning experience.
- Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis and quality tools.
- Proficient in FAI ownership and drawing interpretation.
Skills

Pay and Schedule
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. The role is based in an engineering office and test lab environment with moderate noise levels. It involves a combination of desk work and hands-on testing. The position requires interaction with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. The location for this position is in Englewood, Colorado. This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.
