PROJECT ENGINEER CO-OP- MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

Key Responsibilities

• First Rotation: Estimating
  • Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.
  • Scope Analysis: Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Material and Labor Take-Offs: Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
  • Pricing Reviews: Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.
  • Site Visits: Visit job sites to build relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Fabrication Shop Experience: Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.
• Second Rotation: Project Management
  • Schedule Management: Oversee and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones.
  • Procurement: Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.
  • Change Management: Prepare and submit pricing for change order requests.
  • Design Review: Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.
  • Client and Vendor Relations: Conduct job site visits to foster strong relationships with clients and vendors, ensuring alignment on project goals.
  • Cordination: Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models, and review submittals for compliance and accuracy.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.
• Third Rotation: Estimating or Project Management
  • The work area will be determined based on the Co-ops’ performance/preference.
  • The business needs of SteelFab at this time will be taken into consideration.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Minimum Education Level: Sophomore
• Major: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields
• Required: High level competency in PDF’s, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, and common computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment
