Responsibilities

  • Assists with subcontractors and subcontracts as needed in areas such as scope review, internal requests, change orders, buyout, and communication.
  • Manages the billing process in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Assists the superintendent as needed with items such as assembling RFIs, research, supervising subcontractors, and permits.
  • Coordinates and assembles project closeout documents, including warranty/operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Manages all document control of RFIs, submittals, procurement, subcontractor change orders, correspondence, permits, drawings, specs, punch lists, as-builts, and reports in a systematic and traceable manner.
  • Manages requests from clients, subcontractors, or superintendents such as warranty work requests, drawing reading, and transmittals.
  • Active member of the budget process (works with the project manager to manage and adjust project budgets and prepares the necessary budget paperwork for monthly budget meetings).
  • Coordinates with accounting regarding job setup, including pulling a job number, filling out owner checklists, ensuring subcontractors are pre-qualified, and setting up the budget and prime contract in Procore.
  • Assists in preparing owner checklists, submittals, and coordination with accounting.
  • Attends job walks (pre-construction owner, pre-bid subcontractor, and project progress).

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred OR a BS in Engineering with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of construction engineering experience.
  • Mechanical experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in construction software (Procore preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Access to reliable transportation (required).
