About the role
Vogt Power International Inc. is an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), serving both domestic and international customers. The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in project engineering coordination, ensuring that projects are executed according to specifications and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manages the technical aspect of assigned projects during contract execution
- Provides on-site support to vendors and manufacturing teams to ensure project success
- Interprets and understands specification requirements to ensure project compliance
- Communicates with the customer on technical matters, formulating and presenting RFI's for quick resolution
- Advises customers on the impacts of change requests
- Maintains project engineering schedules, develops and maintains man-hour forecasts, and reports schedule progress to upper management
- Documents control and manages the Document Control Automation Program (DCAP)
- Coordinates with support personnel and customers for meetings and document submissions
- Develops and maintains project O&M manuals as required
- Represents the Engineering Department internally and externally, including traveling for meetings and presentations
- Facilitates design improvements and innovation projects based on customer inputs
- Reviews sales proposals, RFQ's, proposal schedules, and technical reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum two (2) years of related industry experience or minimum two (2) years of experience in each of the following: contract-based project execution, project management, leading a technical team, meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) pertaining to schedules and budgets, working with external customers, change management, change orders, negotiating with suppliers, including contract management, legal terms and conditions, and change management
- Available to lead or participate in meetings that occur internationally outside of typical office hours
- Demonstrated knowledge of company standards and applications, including familiarity with various codes (ASME, NBIC, B31.1, etc.)
- Working knowledge of HRSG or boiler operations, design philosophy, principles, and details of application
- Valid passport and ability to travel when required
- Resourcefulness, organization, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and respond quickly to requests
