Project Engineer

About the role

The Waldinger Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Electrical Construction team in Des Moines. This position offers hands-on project experience, mentorship from experienced Project Managers, and a pathway for career growth in a stable company.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement project plans and schedules
• Submit RFIs, manage documentation, and coordinate resources
• Perform technical calculations and evaluations
• Review drawings and specifications for accuracy
• Provide guidance to field personnel on construction methods
• Monitor build quality and materials
• Conduct inspections and audits
• Resolve issues quickly and effectively
• Track project costs against budget
• Identify opportunities for savings
• Work directly with project teams, subcontractors, and clients
• Build relationships and negotiation skills
• Grow professional network through events, conferences, and mentorship

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
• 0–2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related field (new grads welcome)
• Willingness to travel moderately
