Project Engineer

About the role

RACE Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer based in Garden Grove, CA who wants to grow into a Construction Project Manager. We are a hard-working, blue-collar company looking for someone who is innovative and collaborative, working closely with our technicians, customers and other project consultants to provide solutions to their engineering needs. It can be fast paced and the ability to juggle multiple projects, while providing accurate results is a must. This is an onsite role in Garden Grove, CA.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with senior project managers, customers, and manufacturers designing refrigeration and HVAC systems for new construction design build and retrofit projects
• Draft extensively for generation of AutoCAD drawings
• Refrigeration/HVAC system component sizing, duct sizing, pipe sizing and design, and other duties
• Gather information from our technicians and job sites to apply to current projects
• Provide support for technicians as help is needed
• Handle changes to design requirements and priorities in a professional manner
• Travel and site visits as required

Requirements

• Four (4) year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college
• One (1) year professional experience
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, Excel specifically
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat (editing a plus)
• Understanding of equipment selections related to refrigeration design
• Project management skills are highly desired

Qualifications

• HVAC/Electrical/Building Control/Plumbing experience highly desired
• Experience leading projects and teams
• Experience or interest in quality control and ability to look at design and quality of work, while making recommendations on standardization and process improvement
