About the role

Syner-G is seeking a Project Engineer to support the technical planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects across facility, infrastructure, and construction initiatives. This role provides engineering support, field coordination, technical documentation management, and problem-solving to ensure capital projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and technical activities across capital projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements, design intent, and construction execution plans.
  • Aid in reviewing design drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Engage in field engineering activities including site walks, construction coordination, equipment verification, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain project schedules by tracking engineering deliverables, construction progress, and technical dependencies.
  • Assist with project controls activities such as cost tracking, quantity verification, procurement coordination, and change documentation.
  • Collaborate with design firms, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of technical questions and issues.
  • Prepare engineering logs, meeting minutes, action items, and technical reports.
  • Support commissioning and turnover activities including punch list development, equipment testing coordination, and documentation review.
  • Aid in risk identification, issue tracking, and mitigation planning.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and internal procedures.
  • Support development of project documentation including work plans, technical summaries, and engineering packages.
  • Provide general engineering and project support to project managers and senior engineers.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, industrial, or related discipline) required. EIT certification or progress toward licensure is a plus.
  • Technical Experience: 1–3 years of experience supporting capital projects, construction projects, facility upgrades, or engineering design efforts. Experience working in regulated or complex environments such as biotech, pharmaceutical, industrial, or advanced manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with engineering design processes, construction coordination, technical documentation, and field engineering activities. Exposure to project phases such as design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, or turnover is beneficial.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Proficiency with engineering and project management tools, CAD viewers, and standard office software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support field issue resolution. Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and cross-functional partners.
