Project Engineer

About the role

Build your construction career with Speedwell Construction. The company is looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join the project management team. This role offers hands‑on experience working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners, and involves projects from planning through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Manage the submittal process and prepare, track, and maintain Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Review and work with construction drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing for change‑order work.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor buyout for assigned scopes of work.
• Help resolve scope, drawing, and document coordination questions.
• Maintain organized and current digital drawing sets and project information.
• Support project‑specific safety planning and jobsite documentation.
• Take ownership of project closeout documentation and deliverables.
• Visit active construction sites for meetings, coordination, and inspections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Basic understanding of computers and technology (required).
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
• Commercial or industrial construction experience (preferred, but not required).
• OSHA 10‑hour certification (preferred, but not required).
• Experience with Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Revit, Microsoft Project, or similar construction technology (preferred, but not required).
• Organized, dependable, technologically capable, and eager to learn.
• Strong communication skills, team orientation, and initiative to take on greater responsibility.
