About the role
Sandis is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Campbell, CA. The ideal candidate should have strong technical abilities, experience in land development project design, and the ability to assist in leading a team of engineers on exciting projects throughout California.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve engineering challenges and create construction documents.
- Understand project design and development for grading, stormwater treatment, and utility systems from the planning phase through construction.
- Prepare specifications, conduct research investigations, and write reports.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of technical work in portions of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope across multiple projects.
- Collaborate with the design team, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction to track and monitor approvals from agencies, handle Additional Service Requests, and manage contract approvals.
- Adjust site plans to meet requirements and provide recommendations for more effective layouts.
- Review the entire project, including design done by others, before QA/QC review.
- Mentor, delegate, and lead Design Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years’ experience in project design (Land Development Design)
- Professional Engineers license, or EIT, and actively working towards obtaining PE
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology modeling programs, and storm drainage programs
- Excellent understanding of precise grading, utility plans, and stormwater management
- Ability to problem-solve grading aspects and balance earthwork when needed
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced and professional environment
