The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of capital and sustaining projects within a mining and mineral processing operation. Working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, procurement, and environmental teams, they ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and compliance standards. Responsibilities include managing multiple project stages—from scoping to closeout—developing execution plans, tracking performance, and mitigating risks. The role involves coordinating with external engineering firms for design and technical deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications, as well as supporting procurement activities. Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, they oversee contractors, ensure operational alignment, and facilitate communication across teams. They support project controls, documentation, and reporting, ensuring safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance throughout. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related engineering discipline, with a minimum of five years’ experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry. Skills required are strong organization, technical knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, problem-solving, and effective communication. Physical demands include working on-site, sometimes in challenging conditions, with a focus on safety and adherence to PPE protocols. All candidates should demonstrate results orientation, accountability, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
