About the role
Our client, Southern Company Services, is seeking a Mechanical Designer - P&ID Developer with 5-10 years of experience developing and modifying P&IDs within industrial environments. This individual will support engineering teams by creating, updating, and validating Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), conducting field walkdowns, and ensuring accurate documentation of plant systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise P&IDs using AutoCAD.
- Develop documentation for piping, equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Perform field verification and update as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
- Manage drawing revisions and maintain documentation accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD experience as a Mechanical Designer.
- Previous experience with P&ID development and modifications.
- Experience supporting industrial/process facilities.
- Ability to work onsite, perform field walkdowns, and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes.
- Strong understanding of piping systems.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of control loops.
- Strong understanding of equipment layouts.
