Project Engineer

About the Role

The project engineer works alongside project managers to manage client construction projects. Project types include ground-up construction (industrial, office, and medical), tenant improvement/build-out, and tenant remodel. This role involves assisting with project administration, design coordination, and client/subcontractor interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with project administration, including RFI and submittal tracking, permit status tracking, contract document maintenance, and critical path schedule development and maintenance.
• Handles meeting documentation, bid solicitation, proposal qualification, and project changes tracking.
• Supports problem-solving, coordination with consultants and subcontractors, and field communications.
• Represents the company professionally in project meetings and attends strategy meetings.
• Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients as needed.
• Formulates reports on work progress, scheduling, and permitting.
• Works with the superintendent to assist with planning, organizing, and directing onsite activities.
• Compiles as-built and closeout documents, develops and tracks completion of punch lists, and addresses warranty claims post-completion.
• Actively participates in team activities to promote a sense of esprit de corps among team members.
• Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates, taking full ownership of projects.

Pay

Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually, plus benefits.
