About the role
The Project Engineer / Project Coordinator supports the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across Modern Construction Services' growing portfolio. This role blends technical project coordination with hands-on financial process management.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
- Build and maintain the contract item list — all items requiring submittal for architect or engineer approval
- Manage submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle
- Issue subcontractor contracts using established templates at project kickoff
- Schedule updates and coordination between field and office teams
- Maintain accurate project records and workflows in Procore
- Enter and maintain project financial data within Procore's financial management module
- Manage the pay application process in coordination with Project Managers
- Process change orders and update financial records accordingly
- Prepare and distribute monthly project financial reports for management review
- Collaborate with Project Managers, General Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting
- Support cross-functional communication to keep projects aligned and moving
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale commercial projects
- Proficiency with Procore, including document management and financial modules
- Experience managing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with Sage, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management tools
- Bilingual in Spanish

Pay
Base Salary: up to $100,000 + Annual Performance Bonus
