Project Engineer
Brief Description
Middleburg Communities is seeking a Project Engineer for various multifamily construction projects. This role requires the Project Engineer to provide technical and field support to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Subcontractor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure enforcement of the company's safety program in line with best practices and applicable laws.
- Manage electronic document files, hyperlinks (RFIs, submittals, sketches, inspections), and notify team members of updates.
- Maintain a master list of sketches, specifications, and drawings throughout the project.
- Manage the submittal process, including creating a submittal log, receiving submittals, reviewing compliance, logging, tracking, and distributing to the project team.
- Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process, including creating RFIs, submitting, logging, tracking, hyperlinking, and distributing to the project team.
- Support documentation of site meetings.
- Maintain an electronic as-built drawing package or a set of redlined as-built plans.
- Support the Project Team with documentation, permit tracking, scheduling inspections, contacting subcontractors, and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Aid in the collection and management of project close-out documentation, including receipt of necessary documentation from subcontractors, assembly of close-out documents, compilation of binders, and transmission of all necessary information.
- Participate in the project turnover process. Track completion of all punch list items and distribute the final punch list to responsible subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and understanding of Procore.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess and prioritize tasks, projects, and demands.
- Organizational and interpersonal skills.
