Project Engineer
Middleburg Communities is seeking a Project Engineer to support multiple multifamily construction projects. As an essential member of the Project Team, the Project Engineer provides technical and field support to the Project Manager, the Superintendent, and Subcontractors while promoting our Mission, Values, and Vision of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Enforce the company’s safety program in accordance with best practices and all local, state, and federal laws.
- Manage electronic document files, hyperlinks (e.g., RFIs, submittals, sketches, and inspections), and notify team members of updates.
- Maintain a master list of all sketches, specifications, and drawings during the project.
- Oversee the submittal process, including creating the submittal log, receiving submittals, conducting compliance reviews, submission, logging, tracking, and distribution to the project team.
- Manage the RFI process, including creation, submission, logging, tracking, hyperlinking, and distribution to the project team.
- Support documentation of site meetings.
- Maintain an electronic as-built drawing package or a set of redlined as-built plans.
- Assist the Project Team with documentation, permit tracking, scheduling inspections, contacting subcontractors, and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Support the collection and management of project close-out documentation, including receipt of necessary documentation from subcontractors, electronic assembly of close-out documents, compilation of binders, and transmission of all required information.
- Participate in the project turnover process, track completion of punch list items, and distribute the final punch list to responsible subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with Procore is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess and prioritize a variety of tasks, projects, and demands.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to interact effectively with others.
