Project Engineer
About the role
The Project Engineer role at MATT Construction involves organizing and coordinating the review of submittals and the RFI process. The position also includes assisting the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager with daily tasks such as participating in Owner, Design, and staff meetings, and monitoring the process with subcontractors/design team to ensure timely approval of construction materials. Additionally, the Project Engineer facilitates the review of materials delivered to the site and interfaces with the Superintendent on field walks to receive development.
Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate the review of submittals and the RFI process
- Affiliate with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to participate in Owner, Design, and staff meetings
- Monitor the process with subcontractors/design team to ensure timely approval of construction materials
- Facilitate the review of materials delivered to the site
- Interface with the Superintendent on field walks to receive development
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other applicable background
- Construction internship or other related construction work experience preferred
- General knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment
- Experience with BIM and LEED beneficial
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must have a strong academic foundation in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field
- Preferred candidates should have relevant work experience in construction or a related field
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential
- Knowledge of BIM and LEED is advantageous but not required
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in construction practices and principles
- Experience with BIM and LEED is beneficial
