Responsibilities
- Manage forensic engineering assignments, perform assessments, and prepare reports for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams and serve as the civil engineering SME for a variety of civil/structural projects.
- Prepare technically accurate client deliverables and oversee the work of others.
- Execute multiple forensic investigation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Lead project teams and act as the Engineer of Record in certain cases.
- Develop and recommend standard operating procedures and performance standards for the team.
- Monitor field operations to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and performance standards.
- Review project documentation and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle customer inquiries and make referrals as needed.
- Develop and deliver presentations to critical customers.
- Ensure project budgets are managed effectively and deliver projects on time.
- Mentor and develop team members.
Requirements
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Florida or equivalent in another state.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in forensic engineering.
- 4+ years of forensic engineering experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience testifying in court.
- Knowledge of storm and water drainage systems.
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 10, Swing Stage, FDOT.
Skills and Abilities
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, understanding, interpreting content, and writing).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in manpower and budget management.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
Physical Demands
- Sit for up to 8 hours per day.
- Stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, lay, crawl, twist, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull/carry items.
- Use both feet for repetitive movements.
- See near, far, color, depth, and range.
- Use safety equipment such as hard hats, OSHA-approved footwear, safety glasses, and safety vests.
- Ride in a hoist and/or swing stage under OSHA standards.
- Climb ladders and scaffolds under OSHA standards.
