Project Engineer

About the role

A growing multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Project Engineer (EIT) to join its Structural and Forensic Engineering team in Charlotte. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in structural design, forensic investigations, building assessments, and repair recommendations while working toward PE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis and design for a variety of building types.
• Conduct field investigations to determine causes of structural damage, failures, and deficiencies.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop structural models using industry-standard software.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
• Collect field data, photographs, and observations during site inspections.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, STAAD, or ETABS is preferred.
• Desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
