About the role
A growing multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Project Engineer (EIT) to join its Structural and Forensic Engineering team in Charlotte. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in structural design, forensic investigations, building assessments, and repair recommendations while working toward PE licensure.
Responsibilities
- Assist with structural analysis and design for a variety of building types.
- Conduct field investigations to determine causes of structural damage, failures, and deficiencies.
- Perform engineering calculations and develop structural models using industry-standard software.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
- Collect field data, photographs, and observations during site inspections.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, STAAD, or ETABS is preferred.
- Desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
