About us
We are a top civil contractor in the Tri State region with a large project pipeline across the area. We focus on a variety of projects including Demolition, Sitework, and Paving. We are looking to add a Project Engineer to our team who is looking to join a great company with an exceptional opportunity for growth.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans and proposals, and work with management to develop project objectives; identify project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project.
- Calculate time frames and sequence the stages of the project.
- Prepare and update project schedules while monitoring the progress of the project.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required.
- Work with the project team to ensure project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future project plans based on lessons learned from completed projects.
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on demolition.
- Proven track record of successfully overseeing and delivering construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
- PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
