Position Summary/Purpose
Provide site liaison support for the superintendent and the construction team on inter-discipline subcontractor coordination and overall quality of work at job sites in field operations.
Essential Functions
- Aid contractors in interpreting the job's designs, ensuring the job is constructed according to the project plans, and assisting project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
- Coordinate the implementation of a project, ensuring it is being built correctly; project schedules and forecasts; interpretation of drawings for subcontractors; review of engineering deliverables; redlining drawings; regular project status reports; budget monitoring and trend tracking; bill of materials creation and maintenance; effective communications between engineering, technical, construction, and project controls groups; and assistance to the project manager.
- Research regarding city, county and state construction codes and regulations for every project as needed.
- Aid in the evaluation and development of solutions to problems and questions from subcontractors and other workers on-site.
- Provide support for all RFI submittals from project staff.
- Attend all site meetings representing current projects and safety training and initiatives.
- Other related duties as determined from time to time and communicated to the employee.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of interpreting architectural, engineering and civil drawings
- Knowledge of construction industry terms and operations
- Skills in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships
- Communicates effectively both orally and written
- Independent decision-making experience
- Strong attention to detail
Minimum Education/Equivalent Experience Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management preferred
- Advanced knowledge in interpreting building blueprints, including estimating
- Strong computer skills and a knowledge of construction software such as Timberline and Microsoft Project
- Experience working with 3rd party developers and state and local officials is preferred
- Good communication skills
- A minimum of 1 year of construction experience required
- OSHA training and GSWCC 1 preferred
- Experience in both areas of site improvements and vertical construction preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to work safely at a job site around on-going construction activities and various weather conditions
- Ability to walk and climb steps
- Ability to work long hours as needed
Work Environment
Construction work site typically located in a field office trailer. Equipment to be used: Computer, Telephone, Fax, Copier, Scanner.
