Project Engineer

Essential Functions

• Aid contractors in interpreting job designs and ensure construction adheres to project plans.
• Support project controls, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning.
• Coordinate project implementation, manage project schedules and forecasts.
• Interpret drawings for subcontractors, review engineering deliverables, and redline drawings.
• Create and maintain bill of materials, monitor budgets, track trends, and prepare status reports.
• Evaluate and develop solutions to problems and questions from subcontractors and workers on-site.
• Assist with responding to Request for Information (RFI) submittals from project staff.
• Attend and represent current projects at site meetings and safety training sessions.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of interpreting architectural, engineering, and civil drawings.
• Understanding of construction industry terms and operations.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Strong attention to detail.

Minimum Education/Equivalent Experience Requirements

• Prior degree in Construction Management preferred.
• Advanced knowledge in interpreting building blueprints, including estimating.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of construction software like Timberline and Microsoft Project.
• Experience working with third-party developers and state/local officials.
• Excellent communication skills.
• At least one year of construction experience.
• OSHA training and GSWCC 1 certification preferred.
• Experience in both site improvements and vertical construction.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to work safely in ongoing construction environments and various weather conditions.
• Capacity to walk and climb steps.
• Long working hours as needed.
