Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Executing capital projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance goals are met or exceeded.
- Ownership of project justification, completing payback analysis, and authoring requests for capital funds.
- Developing preliminary concepts, budgetary capital estimates, and timelines for new products, projects, and improvements.
- Assisting in and / or developing vendor bid packages and final vendor selection for purchased parts and services in collaboration with procurement team.
- Periodically providing status updates on project progress and issues.
- Investigating manufacturing problems in the plants and recommending corrective actions. This includes consulting with production personnel, analyzing the supporting data, recommending corrective actions, and following through on recommendations to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Driving achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of assigned projects.
- Coordinating training and start-up activities of new equipment and processes.
- Managing capital, labor, parts, contracted services and expense budgets.
- Replacing/adding production capabilities by adding or modifying equipment.
- Establishing equipment SOP's and maintenance practices to place assets in a precision state.
- Modifying equipment and processes to automate manual tasks to improve capacity and/or reduce cost.
- Completing IQ / OQ / PQ process for new equipment installations when necessary.
Required Qualifications, Skills, Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Basic understanding of engineering principals - knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical, Mechanical and Automation
- 2-5 years of project management experience
- Able to work collaboratively with other functional groups
- Excellent communication and team skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Able to take ownership of projects, to work independently and make autonomous decisions when necessary
- Understanding design for reliability and total cost of ownership principals
Desired Qualifications, Skills, Education And/or Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and PLC Programming
- Understanding of Business – financial justification of projects
- Analytical skills – data visualization and decision making
- Ability to read engineering drawing
- FMEA exposure
- Project schedule development and management
